10.6.10 - October is upon us! Leaves are about to change, temperatures are dropping, I’m layering up, it’s Sweta Weatha!
I will say that the last few months have been quite the whirlwind for this former publicist! Helping to launch a new product for my client, heading to lovely (?) Louisville to intrerview some people and other quasi-fun adventures! One of the more fun things that I have participated in lately was the 7th Annual MP3 Experiment from Improv Everywhere. You have probably heard of the group, they are best known for their famous Grand Central Freeze, and they conduct amazing and outlandish events throughout the city. I have always wanted to participate, but never did until my friend Jon suggested we take part this time around. Let me just tell you my loyal reader(s), it was a hoot and a half! I won’t go into the full description as I am pressed for time, but it involved freezing mid-walk on the street, wrapping up 4,000 people as mummies in the middle of the park, slow-dancing with a t-shirt in the Pop Tarts Store and having a kickass time. Definitely check out their website and join their mailing list to participate!
Well, Fashion Week came and went, Lincoln Center was ablaze with new amazing fashions from top designers, and living so close to the new venues (RIP Bryant Park) afforded me the opportunity to not only attend a show, but see some fashion icons as Karl Lagerfeld (j’adore!), Andre Leon Talley and Martha Stewart (j’adore times deux!) walking through the esplanade. I would take a moment to discuss how great of a word ‘esplanade’ is, but honestly I’m too busy! Between my extreme travel schedule for the next few weeks (Atlanta! Texas! DC! Boston! Atlanta again!) I did have the opportunity to discover some amazing new music which I would love to share with you all!
New songs by my pseudo-British Boyfriend Mark Ronson (featuring a fantastic cameo by Boy George…yes, Boy George!), Maroon 5! Pink! And the SUNSATIONAL return of Jamiroquai. Plus, the new fanfreakintastic song "Barbra Streisand" by Duck Sauce (aka Armand Van Helden and A-TRAK or "Anyway" fame) and to start it all off, a disco funkified version of the new hit song “Fuck You’ by Ceelo, previously featured on Mixtape v23. Won’t lie, it’s my jam-o-the-moment. Trust me reader(s), you will lurve it. Download link is way below, enjoy!
