so yesterday was an interesting day for me...I experienced something that I in all honesty I didn't think I would...I sat with Tanner as he had a chemotherapy session. For those who know Tan, he was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, which is a very common form of cancer, and is 90% curable.

I really didn't know what to expect from the experience, I didn't know what Chemo really entailed, but I knew that my job was to keep Tanner in a good mood, and of course to entertain him, that's what I do best! I arrived at the hospital at 11:30 and met Tanner outside, and we went up to the floor, waited for a few min, then went into a room with a comfy chair for him and some small machines. He was given an IV, then for the next few hours a slow drip of different drugs and meds. He was a bit woozy, and explained that the feeling was that of dizziness and that he felt like he was suffering from a full-body hangover.

I brought my bag of tricks, which included the New York Post (i read Page Six to him in a dramatic voice), we gossiped and gabbed, watched Legally Blonde ("Oh, I like your outfit too, except when I dress up as a frigid bitch, I try not to look so constipated."), watched some "Jessica and Hunter", and had as much as fun as we could, given the circumstances.

It's so sad to see someone anyone get diagnosed with cancer, especially someone as young as Tanner, who's only 25. I have so many friends who are negative nancy's all the time, and to see someone like Tan who is so sweet, genuine and nice, it's refreshing. He has an amazing positive spirit, and he always has a smile on his face, which is especially enlightening given what he's going through. I think I need to take a lesson from him and think more about my attitude and how to keep it positive...you only live once...
